A doula, birth or postpartum, does not provide any medical or clinical procedures or care.
I provide support before and during birth. I am a resource for birth education and once hired, I am available to you via phone, text, email, and scheduled meetings to encourage you, provide information, help you determine and write your birth plan, and anything else (within my scope of practice) that you may need to better prepare you and help you attain the birth experience you desire.
During birth, I never leave mom's side. I provide physical comfort measures, coaching, and emotional support. I remain with mom after baby is born and continue to provide support and emotional care, including initial breastfeeding education and bonding with baby.
The postpartum period can be incredibly overwhelming for many mothers, especially first time mothers. I am most passionate about supporting women during this time. As a postpartum doula, I will come to your home no less than once a week, for 6 weeks. I provide breastfeeding support and education, light housecleaning, care for older children, running errands, and emotional support for Mama and the family.
